Part Three: Rebellion

Hold the light for me

I am falling

And scared of being left behind

In a losing battle with urgent questioning

Fever grief

Quiet groans

They seemed unaware

She was on the ground

Waiting wearily for an ambulance

For stretcher-bearers

She could not find the pulse of life

Of supernatural presence

She was lost

A profound silence held even as her hunger rumbled

The long days dragged by

But one twilight

It seemed as though she opened toward mystery

And the beginnings of awe washed over her face
