When We Were on Fire is a dramatic audio adaptation of Addie Zierman’s first memoir, and tells, in four parts and with a full cast of 45 actors, her story of growing up “on fire” for God in the evangelical fervor of the ‘90s … and what happened when that fire burned out.

Lizzie Goldsmith is the creator of this audio drama podcast. She adapted the book for audio, and directed, produced, and sound designed the production in 2019 while in graduate school at Syracuse University. She has long been a fan of Addie’s work, and is excited for more people to connect with it through this audio drama.
