Part One: Obsession

I can see my own story through the keyhole

Bear witness to the nice young girl

Frightened to death with every breath

Oh, God love me insisted her heart beat

While warrior arms cradled her

They absorb themselves in the labor

Fighting fiercely at the height of the old war

Between lovers of believing

And the voice of doubt seeming to fill the silence

The familiar battle lines settled deep

Into her soft hands

They were not even themselves yet

And no war lasts forever
